~ clarity ~

clarity handwritten poem

Boundaries made in times of self-awareness…
Cleaning one’s house of false trepidations…
Paving the way for renewed expectations…
My road is not yours, nor paved in fairness…

Judgmental claims born from assumptions…
Created a rift that time won’t change…
Never naming the values behind these presumptions,
Nor caring to bridge the space that remained…

Claiming extinction as an art form, while projecting oneself…
Hidden behind a veil of unaccountability…
Gladly walking away, with integrity held high…
Wishing you well, without judgmental eyes…

Life is never a straight line of rights or wrongs…
The choices I’ve made are mine alone…
I know I’m not perfect, never claimed to be…
Each decision was made for my own clarity…

Won’t ask for permission, forgiveness, or acceptance…
Not through this lens of our mutual persistence…
Agreeing to part ways is where this has left us…
Move forward on our own, through paths least resistance…
