writing my thoughts without any direction whatsoever, other than thinking I was writing a new poem, which turned into sort of a haiku all on its own, with no real beat count or rythme. And as I’m writing, I begin to see an image of a sunflower that is in a way, shrugging. not feeling like drawing that from nothing, I decided to give this digital rendering of an image through prompts a try. Not to use as original art, for the life of me, I do not believe I will ever come to the acceptance that that process can be claimed as original art, especially never as professional design. That being said, I wanted to have my idea come from the visions I had, so I typed in the prompt, let it do its thing, and then drew from that in a new sketchbook. wrote the haiku on the second page & drew the sketch on the first page, from looking at the digitally rendered image & honestly, i felt pretty decent about that entire experience. I was able to utilize the current digital rendering as a visual to create a new pencil sketch that is truly from my own hand. reminded me of the days, spending my mornings at the Philly library, taking out a folder of photos for reference for an illustration project & renting them like books. The process seemed very familiar and made sense.
