Through It All | original Poem by Ted Houser Through It All… 22 was a setback that shook me to my core Now only trusting a few Proud of what was creatively accomplished At peace with myself & in love with who I’m becoming … Never needed justifications Reasonings or clarifications We all moved the way we moved Made choices that had real ramifications … Walking past a dark cloud Giving myself grace From emotions & decisions Made in a different place … Not asking for forgiveness, acceptance/permissions We are what we are Each carried a journey, with our own intermissions … The roads traveled are above & beyond Onwards & upwards, we are what we are … Through it all That’s all that this is/ever will be Life will be life & I will be me Not perfect or proud Living in the boundaries Of mental peace that’s allowed … ~ bear ‘25
